SshSessionImpl.pumpKeepAlive

Drives the keepalive schedule.

Sends a reply-bearing keepalive@openssh.com global request whenever the connection has been idle for the configured interval, treats either reply kind as proof of life, and fails the session with a typed timeout when a request stays unanswered for the keepalive timeout or too many requests pile up unanswered.
