ColumnSchema[] schema() @safeThe plan's output schema, derived from metadata alone: the source's columns reshaped by each node (select projects the expressions' resolved dtypes under their labels; withColumn adds or replaces one column's dtype; filter/sort/limit pass the child schema through). No data is touched and nothing is executed.

DataFrameException at the first expression the schema
cannot resolve (unknown columns, no common dtypes).
